Formed in 1900 with the merger of Chicago College of Law and Kent College of Law, IIT Chicago-Kent is an academic institution located in Chicago's West Loop devoted to training students for the practice of law. The College is a vibrant scholarly community that contributes to academic and public policy discourse on a wide range of legal issues.
With more than 500,000 volumes, the Library at the IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law houses an extensive collection of United States, foreign, and international legal materials. The Library serves as a depository for U.S. Government, United Nations, and European Union documents, and also maintains a large collection of Illinois-specific legal materials.
The Illinois Register is a weekly publication documenting proposed, adopted, emergency, and other administrative rulemaking activities within the government of Illinois. The digitized collection of the complete Illinois Register (1977-2001) is a result of a collaboration among the IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law, the David C. Shapiro Memorial Law Library, Northern Illinois University College of Law (Volume 1), and the Cook County Law Library (Volume 2).
