GDradio radio needs your help |
Hey everybody,
I try to keep the request for donation as non-intrusive as I can, but every once in a while I have to send out an email like this... While GDRADIO.NET gets some support from sponsorship, it certainly doesn't pay for all of the operating costs. If you enjoy gdradio and feel it has some value, why not consider what the value IS? It is the time of year that ASCAP, BMI and SESAC all want their annual payment, so that I can operate legally and the songwriters (and the band) get paid). There is also the cost of streaming bandwidth - not cheap at all!
I could go on and on about what it costs to run gdradio, but I bet I'm already boring you to tears. Please go to
http://www.gdradio.net/donate.htm and do what you can. Trust me when I tell you that if every listener who tunes in regularly gave ONE DOLLAR, I'd have no worries. Of course, when something is offered for free, it is easy to say "why SHOULD I pay if I don't have to?" Well, here's why - TO KEEP THE SITE ALIVE!

I myself am mostly Irish and married to a girl who is mostly Scot. She can haggle the price of anything and is always talking her way into bargains. She even wants me to calculate tips on meals to a fraction of a penny, Go forbid we tip more than 15%. hahahah Don't strain yourself pulling that wallet out!!

I guess I'm a cold hearted bastard because I don't really understand how we went from freely traded music or offering up our services to fellow heads for free and for fun, to an NPR-like fund raising announcement.
But in truth I have never been to your site, preferring to stream freely and directly from Archive.org

umm ... you copy and pasted this from GDradio, no? Just wanted to clear the air that el meurto is a one of our natives who goes by some different handles and *not* officially affiliated with GDradio. It may not make any difference, and I may be wrong, but sometimes el meurto gets a little fiesty 'round these parts, and I'm not so sure that GDradio wants to be associated with meurties' sometimes suspect threads. So, el meurto may not be associated with GDradio, but she is a hot chick, if that makes any difference to y'all.

as long as it's not sending $$ to NPR, they are already "Government Funded" by OUR taxes (and yet they always bash the government and support forces that wish to make us 3rd world-socialists) - fuck that.
