Lou, I have the bonus disc for Rockin' The Rhein and possibly the The Best Of Jerry Garcia bonus disc, but I will have to look for it. I'm playing the Rockin' The Rhein bonus disc right now, so that one is a sure thing. Look for my email.

Recorded at The Academy Of Music NYC March 1972

* Playing In The Band - March 22, 1972
* Sugar Magnolia - March 22, 1972
* Caution - March 22, 1972
* Jam - March 22, 1972
* Uncle John's Band - March 22, 1972
* Dark Star - March 23, 1972

I also have some disc that was included in a Jerry Garcia Memorial book I bought in 1995 with the following on it. I don't know if you would even be interested.

American Studios North Hollywood November 14, 1967
Dark Star
Pacific Recording, San Mateo from September 5, 1968 to March 11, 1969
St. Stephen, The Eleven, Dupree's Diamond Blues, China Cat Sunflower, Mountains Of The Moon, Barbed Wire Whipping Party.
Pacific High Recording San Francisco February 1970
You Got To Know (Tastebud)

Without going through all the 1967, 1968 and 1969 studio rehearsal stuff already on the Archive and comparing I don't know if anything on this one is rare or not.

The Rockin' the Rhein bonus disc would be great to get, SkyDawg--thanks much for offering it!

I wonder what that other disc is. I recognize some of the tracks as Aoxomoxoa outtakes, but there's no mention of it as a bonus disc in the family discography. Does it look like a commercial release?

I will be happy to help out with the Rockin' The Rhein bonus disc. I emailed you so email me back with some details and we will make it happen. There is some nice stuff on it. I didn't realize it was that hard to find. For some reason I thought this was a bonus disc from the Dick's Picks Vol. 30 release since it is from the same run of shows. I thought they sent it to me when I ordered DP 30. It wasn't until I checked out your link that I realized that this came from Rockin' The Rhein!

To answer your question about the other disc, no, it looks "quasi-official" and is not vault quality. These recordings are not as clean as the ones on the Archive. After listening to them forget I mentioned them. I had not played them in a while. I just listened to it and compared these out-takes to the Anthem and Aoxomoxoa out takes available already on the Archive and they are the same except in the case of Dupree's Diamond Blues. I can't find another out take of this on the Archive that is the same as this one, though it probably circulates somewhere already. On this take what sounds like Phil really goofs out on the "la la la la" chorus that ends the song. A pretty cool take all in all. There were probably chemicals involved...
