They are currently recording for their first release. I'll let you know when it's out.

Wait a minute--are you saying you don't count this as a "guilty pleasure"? If you for one minute think a 60s era Bay Area Snob (yours truly) is going to tolerate his "best web friend" admitting this without taking some grief for it, you've got another thing coming.
What, I am not sure, but something's coming (probably a number of jokes with this set-up, but in all seriousness, I am absolutely shocked to hear this news...not sure why, but I am shocked).
You do know there was a strong negative relationship between IQ and CB radio use in the 70s in the US? Now, if you're just talking about Sally Field, well...okay then; fer shure.

About time you chimed in, boltslinger. (Though I have to admit I was more expecting a cyber-cuff round the ear for an earlier post about there being no agreed upon definition of talent.)
Anyway, I admit to no guilt whatsoever about enjoying Convoy. I sing along, it makes me happy in the moment. What greater pleasures does life have to offer?

Re: 10-4, Pigpen, fer shure, fer shure |
Why of course.
But, let me set the stage: snobbish HS age Deadhead, battling with Eagles fans, Zep fans, etc., etc., etc. You've heard the story. Now, imagine the dumbest, red-neck sort that is somewhere to the extreme right of the fundamentalist whackos we today ignore, being the only one to embrace this tune...again, we are in the juvenile halls of puberty, where I make no apologies for our inability to tolerate much of anything at the time besides drugs, sex and long hair--oh, and the "right" kind of music--so do forgive me. Thus, they were the sorts that one and all (ie, Eagles fan, Zep fan, heads) felt were embracing something akin to Richard Nixon's music. They were universally vilified, and in hindsight, not sure whether we were nasty kids, as kids will be, or not, but that's the way it went down in the Bay Area among all the punks inculcated with "proper 60s narrowmindedness".
You probably had to be there to appreciate my bias, but I know you'll understand.

So forgive me if my decoder ring is playing up, but am I expected to renounce my pleasures in response to some negative experiences of yours?

Re: 10-4, Pigpen, fer shure, fer shure |
Nope; just explaining the situation over here (in a very small part of the country, really)...I was assuming it req'd explanation (without truckers and the like it'd not be something you'd have seen first hand?).
But yes, no problem whatsoever with your enjoying it! ;)
EDIT: keep trying to think of some tune on "your" side that if I were to say "love singing along with that one" you'd say to yourself "Holy Crap! THAT song?!", out of sheer surprise to find I enjoyed it, due to similar biases of your youth and first exposure to it, blah, blah, blah (I assume you have such biases). But can't...so I guess I am stuck with the lame explanation above.
Good morning, Rob!
